What makes Creed so special? Our team members!

Chris Teigan interviews Web Developer, Avery Watts, about:

  • his favorite technology
  • the impact of teamwork
  • running fast for very long distances

Avery also discusses his career journey with Creed starting as an intern and eventually becoming a developer on the enterprise team.

Runtime: 4 mins

Chris:
Hi, Avery. Thanks for taking the time to meet with me today. I’ve got some questions for you. Are you ready?

Avery:
Yep.

Chris:
Are you sure?

Avery:
Let’s see how it goes.

Chris:
Okay. First of all, tell me about your role and your history at Creed Interactive.

Avery:
Yeah, so I started as an intern about two and a half years ago or something. It’s been a while! Then, after school, I got hired on as an associate developer. I’ve been working as an associate developer for about a year now.

Chris:
Let me highlight something that really stood out to me during your internship. We’d give you challenges—like writing code in one of our tech stacks—and you’d complete it in all of our tech stacks! That blew me away. As an intern, you went above and beyond, which is exactly what you hope to see because it shows real enthusiasm and interest. You always had a smile on your face, asked great questions, and really stood out.

Avery:
I’m glad to hear that!

Chris:
Next question. What programming languages and technologies do you primarily work with, and how proficient are you with each of them?

Avery:
I work on a broad range of projects. I’m on the enterprise team, which handles a wide portfolio. So, I work with a little bit of WordPress, DNN, .NET, and some SQL database management. I really enjoy having that range of projects—it keeps me on my toes and learning every day. Being on a team that works with diverse technologies and clients has been great.

Chris:
What’s your favorite technology to work with?

Avery:
Honestly, each one has its own strengths. It really depends on the project and what you’re trying to accomplish. But I do like .NET, partly because it’s something I’ve been working with more recently on projects like CMD and Jetpubs for about half a year. It’s still kind of new to me, so that keeps it exciting. Plus, it’s so full-featured and robust—high quality all around.

Chris:
All right, Avery, thanks for your time today. I think we have another meeting later, so I’ll be talking to you soon.

Avery:
Sounds good. See you later.

Chris:
See you later. Thanks!
